Team USA the lucky winner

The Motocross of Nations is officially the biggest off-road motorcycle race in the world, with hot and sunny conditions cooking a mammoth and eager crowd of 90,000 over two days at Franciacorta in Italy. The newly-constructed circuit inside the road racing complex housed a rough and technical track of two minute lap-times with five large 'showcase' jumps split by successions of waves, rollers and technical sections.

Team Italy uses home advantage

The opening day of the Red Bull FIM MXoN saw home team Italy come out on top and take the first spot at the end of the qualifying. France took second ahead of Belgium while Great Britain and Australia rounded off the top five. Defending Champion USA was sixth.

Musquin dominates in Brazil and takes MX2 Title

An action packed Honda Grand Prix of Brazil, rounding off the 2009 FIM Motocross World Championship, concluded with the victories of Desalle and Musquin, as the latter also wrapped up the MX2 Championship.
Ramon and Nagl completed the MX1 podium while 2009 World Champion Cairoli struggled to end ninth; German Nagl wrapped up the second place in the Championship.

Kornel Nemeth secures championship

Hungarian Kornel Nemeth won his first German Championship one round before the end of the series at Holzgerlingen. Under perfect conditions a 7-7 mot finish was enough to secure a 54 points over main rival Ken Roczen. Marcus Schiffer had to quit the season with a shoulder injury after the Dutch GP the week before.

Hahn Races to 450 Win - Dungey wraps up 250 title

A summer of some of the most memorable racing in Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship history came to an exciting conclusion at the American Motocross Festival from Steel City Raceway on Saturday. The tight and highly-competitive 250 Class championship came down to the wire with Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki's Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., edging out Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Christophe Pourcel, the race winner, for his first career national championship.

Perfect sweeps for de Dijker and Musquin

The 2009 MX1-GP World Championship belongs to Yamaha Red Bull De Carli's Tony Cairoli as the Sicilian took 6th position in the sand of Lierop and the Grand Prix of the Netherlands and confirmed his status as champion for the first time in the category. The 23 year old celebrated with his Italian team as he converted twelve of fourteen rounds as the 'red plate' holder into a maiden title success, becoming the youngest MX1-GP number one and, with his third career championship, also the first to claim crowns in both classes.

First ever title for the German

Taking her first ever Women’s World Championship Title Laier is now the sole rider to have won both in the former FIM Women’s World Cup and in the actual FIM Women’s World Championship.
The German lost the Title to Lancelot in 2008, the first edition of the Championship which started without her – Laier was sidelined by a shoulder injury and missed round one.

Cairoli wins MX1 Title – De Dycker and Musquin win GP

The Braun Grand Prix of The Netherlands assigned the first of the two remaining Titles as Cairoli won his maiden MX1 Championship despite a damaged left knee.
De Dycker went on to dominate both motos and take the overall, with Coppins and Desalle completing the podium. Nagl crashed in heat one and decided to ride safe in heat two to at least build on his second place in the Championship.

Goerke Claims Upset Win with First Career Victory

In a season highlighted by first-time winners, Factory Yamaha's Matt Goerke, of Lake Helen, Fla., captured an upset victory in New England to become the sixth rider in 2009 to win for the first time in the 450 Class. Rain greeted the riders at Moto-X 338 on Saturday at the penultimate round of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship as consistent, light showers fell throughout the day.

Max Nagl is the man

Maximilian Nagl (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Alexandr Tonkov (Team Esta Suzuki) and Jeremy Seewer won in their respective classes in Gaildorf this weekend. 12.000 spectators watched the races in bright sunshine. The MSC Gaildorf was hosting the 6th round of the ADAC MX Masters.
