Goncalves and Roos first winners

Normally Gemert stands for tough track and weather conditions but this year riders and spectators were treated by a perfect course. OK, in the sand track conditions are alway difficult but at least it was dry this year.

Stroupe Scores Second Lites Class Win and Moves into Second Place Overall

Team San Manuel Yamaha’s James Stewart, of Haines City, Fla., won his eighth race of the 2009 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season before 36,754 fans at the Superdome. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Stroupe, of Lincolnton, N.C., won his second Eastern Regional AMA Supercross class main event of the season and moved into second place in points standings.

14 year old factory rider Ken Roczen beats GP regulars

One of the traditions in German MX is to start the season at Frankenbach near Heilbronn early in the year. The weather forecast was bad but on Saturday some unexpected sunshine made the conditions acceptable. The main German MX teams took the chance to roll out their bikes and riders at home for the first time.

Simpson and de Reuver winning pre season meeting

The event at Hawkstone Park, which celebrated the tenth anniversary of this pre-season international was held in sunny, early spring weather and virtually perfect conditions. Riders were able to test themselves on the challenging sandy circuit and a hill that some consider infamous, presenting an excellent opportunity to sharpen both riding skills and machines ahead of the season's opener.

Stroupe Soars to Lites Class Victory

Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Chad Reed, of Tampa, Fla., won his first Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, race of the 2009 season at the inaugural race inside Lucas Oil Stadium before 61,538 fans, tying the AMA Supercross class points race. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Stroupe, of Lincolnton, N.C., won the first Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites class race of his 2009 season.

Racing hard to get ready for Feanza

A cold, windy and occasionally showery Valence circuit towards the south of France hosted the second major pre-season International race of the 2009 motocross schedule and the Teka Suzuki WMX1 team were able to capture their first chequered flag of the year as Ken De Dycker claimed the Superfinal on his way to second place overall.

Pre GP Racing in Southern France

The 2009 International Motocross of Valence was a great one, and celebrated David Philippaerts in the MX1 class and Valentin Teillet in the MX2 category. The reigning MX1 World and MX2 European champions won the French event, but both had to battle hard during a cold meeting due to some wind and light rain in the afternoon.

Cold racing in Belgium

A first race meeting close to the Europeam heart of MX (Which is located at Belgium) took place last weekned at Grobbendonk. The track was completely frozen in the morning, timed practice was more ice-speedway than motocross. Some of the icy parts were still there in the first moto, making riding very demanding.

Tarroux and Philippaerts in the lead

The first round of the 2009 Italian championships took place at the traditional former GP track at Montevarchi in the middle of Italy. The conditions were sunny but cold and some of the best MX GP riders took the chance for another pre-season race meeting.
