Retaining an eight-point lead with second place

Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Chad Reed retains an eight-point lead in the AMA/ FIM Supercross Championship after racing to second place at Saturday's 11th round in New Orleans.

Reed started the night by taking the win in his heat race and finished the night with an epic battle in the Main, where he finished a strong second. This season, Reed has finished every race on the podium.

Team Yamaha at New Orleans Supercross

James Stewart took his LandM San Manuel YZ450F back to the top of the podium for his eighth victory of the 2009 AMA Supercross series (also an FIM World Championship) at the Superdome in New Orleans for round eleven of seventeen.

Three riders in the sand

With two top ten results the German based team Silent Sport went home more than happy from the Dutch championship opener. Young Lars Oldekamp showed good speed in the MX class while sand veteran Dennis Schröter had good results in both motos despite crashing two times.

Eric Sorby retires

The series went from cold to hot as the travelling circus that is the 2009 AMA Monster Energy Supercross series rambled from Indianapolis, Indiana, to the famous Dayton International Speedway in Daytona, Florida.
In what is generally regarded as the toughest SX event of the year, it didn't disappoint as the MDK/Warthog Racing Academy and the Warthog Nation had both times of success and times of disappointment.

Pourcel wins and leads lites class

Christophe Pourcel continued Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s domination of the Eastern
Region of the AMA Supercross Lites championship, winning his third race of the season. Teammate Austin Stroupe won his heat race, but crashed on the first lap of the main event, and was unable to continue. In the supercross class, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto finished sixth while Timmy Ferry ractured his heel on the second lap and did not finish.

Two wins in a row

Chad Reed has regained the AMA/ FIM Supercross series lead after winning Saturday's Daytona Supercross in Florida.

The Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider is now 11 points clear of James Stewart after 10 of 17 rounds after the Yamaha rider crashed in the opening corner of the 20-lap Main Event and had to charge back from dead last to seventh.

Crash costs championship lead

LandM San Manuel Yamaha rider James Stewart recorded his lowest race finish of the 2009 AMA supercross (and FIM SX World Championship) series last weekend at Daytona with 7th position in the main event after a first turn crash left him almost last at the start of the tenth round of seventeen.

The privateers are there

The 2009 AMA Monster Energy Supercross series headed due north-west up to the Indianapolis Lucas Oil Stadium. It was a red letter day for all that is MDK/Warthog, as the Warthog Nation set records on qualifying riders into the mains. Of the 15 members of the Warthog Nation that hit the track in Indy, eight of them made their main events. Never before in AMA racing have so many riders from one organization staked their claim to the final races of the night.

Matt Boni Becomes New Addition

After long consideration Josh Hansen recently decided to leave the Rockstar Energy / Hart and Huntington Race Team for the remaining 2009 Supercross season. Hansen made the personal decision to refocus for the 2010 race season after suffering the recent losses of friends Jeremy Lusk and H&H Racing teammate Anthony Hart both due to unfortunate motorcycle accidents.
