After spending two years as a Suzuki facory rider Mike Alessi recently signed a contract with KTM Austria.Even without an official confirmation it seems like there will be 5 top MX1 pilots riding the 2010 GP campaign. At least the first few races since Alessi plans to join the US outdoor series once it started in Mai.

Someone there to beat the USA?

A record breaking entry list of 36 Teams ready to battle for the Chamberlain Trophy is the first preview of a fantastic Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations, set to happen in Franciacorta, Italy, on the October 4 weekend.
This year’s Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations will see the participation of 36 Teams for a total of 108 riders, something that never happened in the previous 62 editions of the most important off road event in the world.

Back to Yellow

New Belgian Champion and the emerging star from the 2009 FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship, Clement Desalle, will join Steve Ramon in the Teka Suzuki World MX1 team for the 2010 campaign.
The 20-year-old Belgian will become a factory rider with the RM-Z450 for the first time in his career and will work alongside Ramon who enters his fifth season with the Belgian team next year.

3 brands in 3 years for the Estonian

The rumours gained a nice head of steam, and when the Estonian Express was seen entering the plush camper of LS Honda team boss Steven Lettani, it was all but confirmed. With all formalities having been completed, we can indeed confirm officially that the 24 year old Estonian will be Honda-mounted in 2009. "I am very happy with the deal," Tanel remarked in usual deadpan fashion. "I like the bike, and there is professional but easy-going atmosphere in the team. I want to take this opportunity to thank Claudio De Carli and the Read Bull De Carli Yamaha Team for a fantastic year. It is a very professional team, and it is a great honour for me to have been able to represent them this year."

Suzuki chapter came to an end

Winner of 2009 MX1-GP Grand Prix events in the Netherlands and Belgium, Ken de Dycker, will steer the new YZ450F for the Yamaha Monster Energy Ricci Motocross Team in the 2010 FIM Motocross World Championship. The 25 year old Belgian will be another of Yamaha’s main threats in the MX1-GP category, along with 2008 world champion David Philippaerts in the Yamaha Monster Energy MX squad, while his team-mates in the Italian set-up, Loic Larrieu and Alessandro Lupino, will retain the crew’s links and connection with the MX2-GP class with the revised YZ250F.

Teams structures getting mixed up for 2010

Entering their second year as owners of the Kawasaki Racing Team -the Factory Kawasaki team in the FIM Motocross World Championship MX1- in 2010, Frenchmen Roger Pourcel and Thierry Chizat Suzzoni announced the team’s line up for next season together with European Race Planning Manager of Kawasaki Europe Steve Guttridge.

Tedesco, Dungey and Weimer to Italy

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce the members of AMA Team USA for the 2009 Motocross of Nations. Ivan Tedesco, Ryan Dungey and Jake Weimer will race for American pride as AMA Team USA goes for its 20th Motocross of Nations victory at the Autodromo Daniel Bonara in Franciacorta, Italy, this Oct. 4-5.

Jeremy Van Horebeek joins CLS Kawasaki

Right before the Loket GP Kawasaki announced their MX2 factory rider lineup whis will be run by the French CLS team. With Steven Frossard already confirmed the second of the two riders is the Belgian youngster Jeremy von Horebeek who has been with the KTM junior team before. So far there is no official rider lineup for the KRT MX1 factory team despite the long time injured Sebastien Pourcel who is confirmed for 2010.

Young riders going for gold

With the Red Bull FIM MXoN in Italy at October 4th coming up Team France unveiled their line up for the 2009 event: Nicolas Aubin will ride the MX1 class, Marvin Musquin will be in the MX2 class while Gautier Paulin will complete the team being the Open class rider.
