The second race of the Dutch championship took place at the traditional track at Halle. Some race made it not easier for the riders to race through the heavy sand track. The Team Silent Sports boys Dennis Schröter and Lars Oldekamp went out to Holland to get ready for the main race series coming up in Europe and Germany soon. Dennis Schröter:
I went home after the race with mixed emotions. I was happy with my performance, I had reasonable starts and my lap-times were competitive and constant from start to finish. But I had some funny noises coming from my race bike in race 1 so we switched to the spare bike for the second heat. Unfortunately it lost power after 3 laps and stopped completely 2 laps before the end. That’s very disappointing, but due to the fact that I can’t ride all races of the Dutch open anyway, at least it didn’t ruin my end-result in the championship.
Lars Oldekamp:
I came here with a personal goal to finish within the top 6 and that’s what I did. The track was difficult and physically challenging but even after a small crash in the second moto which put me back to 15th I managed to fight back and finish 6th. My fitness level is good and my speed is getting better with every race. Now I’m looking forward to the first 2 rounds of the EMX-2 in Portugal and France, before the season in Germany finally kicks off in Drehna. | Photo by: Stefan Wasner Dennis Schröter |
