Another rouund of the German MX Masters championship took plase at Prisannewitz in the northeast of Germany. While Dennis Schröter struggled in the Masters class Lars Oldekamp kept his team happy with another victory and the MX2 championship lead.
I felt really good on Saturday and qualified 2nd fastest without even trying too hard. Iím physically fit so I was really looking forward to Sunday. In race 1 I had a decent start but broke a couple of spokes in my front Ė wheel and had to pull out. In race 2 I nearly crashed at the start and was way back but managed to work myself back into the top 20 within the first lap. But then suddenly it felt like someone had pulled the plug and I completely lost my drive. I wish I could explain what happened but unfortunately I canít.
Finally I am riding without pain again! I really felt strong this weekend and even though I had a miserable start and 2 small crashes in the second heat I was always in control. I made up another 5 points on my competition and now Iím really looking forward to the next round of the series in the deep sand of Tensfeld.
Iím getting there step by step. I qualified easily and worked my way up well into the points in heat one. I heat two my start was bad and my race ended in 21st position but Iíve been riding well and consistent all weekend long so Iím happy.
