Oldekamp Youngster class vice champion

Lars Oldekamp
Coming into the final race of the MX Masters series tie in points with rival Dennis Ullrich it was the most dramatic race for team Silent Sport's Lars Oldekamp. At the end of the day he was beaten by a single point dispite a good ride with almost no mistakes. Young team mate Michael Kausse got his best season result so far while MX1 rider Dennsi Schrötes was sidelines with a knee injury suffered at Gaildorf.
HENDRIK NOLTING (TEAM MANAGER):
The show is over and the lights are out and all the hype and excitement has been replaced by disillusion. We missed our goal to win the Youngster Cup with Lars, by only one point though, but there is no such thing as almost pregnant… We all know that Lars gave it all he got, but at the end of the day it simply wasn’t enough. Congratulations to Dennis Ullrich and his team, it was a battle that was hard but always fair.
But now we have to focus ahead again, there are still 2 races of the MX2 nationals and the European MX Des Nations and everything’s open yet.
Even though Michael’s performance was overshadowed by the championship decision, he was doing well all weekend long. After a good qualification he had a great first heat, only a small problem with the clutch cost him a few positions in the end. A solid second race rounded up his best race of the season so far.
